10. On-Site Health Care—A Real Solution for Reducing the Cost of Employee Health Benefits
Employers everywhere are hearing the “buzz” about establishing on-site employee health clinics. When weighing choices for supply-side cost containment, it may not make sense to roll out a huge employee health center if your company does not have the manpower to support such a substantial investment. There are scalable models for on-site care that make more sense for smaller and medium-sized employers, including transforming pre-existing areas or buildings into small health centers and keeping capital expenditures to a minimum. This session focuses on: scaling a health center to match employer needs and optimizing staffing requirements; maintaining compliance on a state-by-state level; leveraging health risk assessments and other health and wellness screenings; gaining greater control over the rising cost of health plan benefits; integrating risk profiles and predictive modeling to allow employers to better predict trends and identify gaps in care and engaging employees to improve their health and assist them in navigating the increasingly complex health care delivery system.
