13. Generating Real Cost Savings from a Dependent Eligibility Audit
It’s no surprise to HR professionals that employers bear the brunt of insurance costs. The Kaiser Family Foundation estimates that employers cover 72% of the annual cost of health insurance for a family of four ($8,824) and 84% of the average cost of single coverage ($3,785). With employers spending a larger amount per employee per year, an audit pays for itself many times over. Dependent audits allow employers to continue offering benefits to eligible employees and help eliminate ineligible participants. Learn how dependent audits can generate significant cost savings and what employers should look for when conducting audits.
