Health and Welfare Benefits Boot Camp
Jay M. Kirschbaum, J.D., David Mohl, Elizabeth Vollmar, Willis |
Are you new to employee benefits? Or perhaps you are a compensation professional looking
to cross train in the benefits arena or a seasoned HR generalist who has just recently taken
over managing health and welfare benefits. This day-long, pre-conference boot camp is
designed to help you know more about ERISA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADEA and all of the
other acronyms and laws that make employee benefits very confusing. In this session, experts
shed light on the overall structure of the laws and essentials of
managing health and welfare benefits. Learn the difference
between mandatory and voluntary benefits, how laws fit together,
the importance of compliance through plan documentation,
how nondiscrimination rules work and the basics of COBRA and
HIPAA. Gain insight into fiduciary liability issues under ERISA
and an understanding of the Medicare Modernization Act. The
session also covers two of today’s most high-profile topics:
consumer-driven health care and wellness programs. In addition,
hear about common HR mistakes and how to avoid them, and
discover what the future likely holds for employer-sponsored
health care. Leave this session better equipped to manage the
challenges you face in your health and welfare plans.
Register by July 3, 2008, and attend this pre-conference workshop for just $350—a $100 savings. After this date, the fee is $450. Separate enrollment is required. (Enrollment is limited to 100.)
