Formed in 1973 as the retirement division of MFS Investment Management, in 2006
MFS Retirement Services, Inc. became a separate operating subsidiary of Sun Life
Financial, Inc. – one of the largest providers of group retirement products and services in
Canada. As a result of the new ownership structure, the firm has been renamed Sun Life
Retirement Services. Today it serves over 5,700 retirement plan sponsors and over 1.4
million retirement plan participants. As of December 31, 2006, Sun Life Retirement
Services had more than $15.8 billion in retirement assets under recordkeeping
